Warrior

Being a warrior in life means simplifying things. You wake up in the morning, do yoga or some other ritual, make a good healthy breakfast, with good coffee, juice and food filled with fibers. You dress up with clean clothes and tie your shoes. Then you go to work, simply order your agenda, write down stuff you have to do and start your day with sharpness and wakefulness. Than during your break you just simply eat, relax, really have a break and let go of your work for a while, because the rest of the day will still require quite some energy. Than you come home, buy some nice food, cook yourself a nice diner (or for whomever), put on a nice record, maybe do some sports, make some music or read a good book. You really make sure, by maintaining the quality of life, you keep some sort of dignity and don’t become swallowed by the hastiness of daily life. You make sure your bills are paid, you house is quite clean. And in weekends you go for a nice beer with your friends, take a good long walk or bike ride, go to the cinema and have coffee on sunday morning with a good breakfast and a newspaper. We can make art out of life, if we do things in a mindful way. Every day you wake up and just try to do your best at things and try to sculpture your life more precisely every day. Zen master Shunryu Suzuki compared it to making bread; in order to make the perfect bread, you have to bake the dough over and over again, every day. In this way we become warriors sharpening everything we do, day after day.
